Having spent the last few years being a little low on horse power, we’re pretty sure we have built a lovely team back up and we’re ready and raring to go for 2023!

I personally think these are some of the smartest young horses around and we couldn’t be more  excited to show the world what they can do. 

We took them out XC schooling for the first this year and it was the first time with me for 3 of them! I got off each and every one absolutely buzzing (which is totally unlike me, XC schooling isn’t my favourite!)

First off the yard outing of year with some very exciting young event and jumping horses yesterday. 

All ridden as always in Childeric Saddles and Equitex pads and I’m dressed head to toe in fabulous Coldstream Equestrian who all support Team Stevens because they are the very best in the business!

Out out for the first time in 2023 ⭐️

We can’t keep them secret any longer… Meet two VERY special 3 yr olds! 
Twins from our wonderful Quicklook with Chilli’s Prince (full brother to Chilli Knight!) as their sire - we aren’t sure you could get better breeding for Eventing!
Embryo transfer babies after we flushed two embryos (at the same time) from Quicklook, they planted in 2 different recipient mares and were born within 3 hours of each other!! 
This was their first ever time jumping under saddle! What naturals they are! 
They are both owned by Chris and Lisa Stone and I want to say a HUGE well done and thank you to Hannah Lavender for doing such a wonderful job of breaking them in. She has taken her time and made sure they are super confident with absolutely everything before moving on (and all while we’ve been competing in Vilamoura! What a team I have!
We can’t wait for their future.

MGH Candy Girl you are a total FREAK of nature, the bigger you jump the better you get ❤️
Today we jumped in a MASSIVE 3* Grand Prix European Championship qualifier - stupidly big jumps (top of the wings infact!!) and so so technical as well, so much to think about! 
I’ve never counted strides like it! We had one touch but we were still placed in the money and Tina Fletcher pointed out to me that we were top Brit 🇬🇧 (Not bad for an event rider!)🤣🙈
Beyond CHUFFED. What a horse she is 🍭 🍬 🚀 
I can’t even begin to thank Isabel Fox (Candy’s owner) for giving me the chance to ride this unbelievable mare. 

Best of the Brits in the VillaMoura Grand Prix!

Because what is published online is so much about people's successes, I'd like to show when I make a mistake, so everyone knows it’s not always about the times we do well but sometimes about the times that we mess up! BUT I wasn’t going to let it get to me. Today Candy and I jumped in our biggest Grand Prix to date and second time for either of us at this level. The course was massive and really tough with two verticals at 1.60m, really wide oxers and tricky distances. I made the mistake of going too quick into the combination and paid the price of having to pull out at the last part because we were not going to get the distance. BUT we both fixed it, took a breath and jumped around the rest of the course clear! There was just ONE double clear and only two clears in the first round, it caused carnage, so although I’m super annoyed at myself for making a mistake I’m proud we managed to fix it and finished more confident than ever. AND we cleared that last vertical which was honestly just enormous! 
Moral of the story is….. we all make mistakes but it’s what we do about it that counts, get up, get on and make it better! 💪🏻
Candy is beyond a super star, she is just AMAZING 🤩 I LOVE HER!

The one with the whoopsie!

Everyone, meet Cooley Couture (Penny), a beautiful new Eventing ride for me! 
Penny is a 5yr old and we have very high hopes for her future as we fully believe she has all the attributes to be a top class event horse. 
We will be very carefully producing her with future championship teams in mind 🤫
I want to say a huge thank you to one of my biggest supporters and friends Pru Dawes-Rowland, who owns the gorgeous Flash Cooley and now this lovely mare too. 
We couldn’t be more excited for the future with both of these very talented horses. 
A big thank you also goes to Richard Sheane and  his team at Cooley Farm for matching us with Penny - he delivered exactly what we asked him for!

Introducing Cooley Couture

So pleased that our 4 lovely horses have made it to VillaMoura Equestrian Centre safely thanks to Gary and Charlotte who have driven and looked after them on the way down. 
They are now happy and settled in their stables, munching and drinking.

We've arrived in VillaMoura!

Our 2022 Eventing season has come to a close with the very exciting 7yo Chilli King (Raf) competing in the CIC2* L at Osberton International.

Owned by Chris and Lisa Stone and Chris and Clare Mathias Raf is a big horse with undeniable 5* potential so we have really taken our time with him. He has been a little immature and so babyish until now, so he’s stayed at novice and 2* this year with no pressure and the time he has needed to grow and learn his trade. 

It absolutely paid off this week when he was absolutely brilliant in all 3 phases finishing on his dressage score for 6th out of 128 starters! 

He’s such an exciting horse for the future and is full brother to our amazing 5*
WINNER Chilli Knight which means I know how much heart he will have, it’s just my job to produce him in the right way. Watch this space! 

The 2022 season hasn’t been quite what we’d hoped, losing my boy Arctic Soul was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to deal with. Add in some injuries to other horses, and it was a REALLY tough start to the season, but we managed to improve things a bit with a little mid-season marriage and some brilliant results by some truly incredible horses. 

Now, I’m super excited to be heading to Vilamoura (Portugal) on a jumping tour with our 3 lovely jumpers and a new eventing ride I have for next year! 👀

I’m really enjoying the jumping and plan on keeping it up! But for anyone that’s worried I promise I’m not giving up the Eventing - we have a very exciting team of horses for next season!

Osberton International 2022 - Team Tatt’s final event of the year!

Absolutely honoured, proud and lucky to have ridden and produced this gorgeous boy to his very first event. Chilli Morning IV (Genetically identical clone to Chilli Morning)
We have done some showjumping over the summer, but this was his very first dressage test and first xc. He was just lovely, first to go this morning, beautifully behaved for a stallion, 27.8 dressage and finished on it for a clean sheet at his first one! So chuffed. 
We finished 4th but honestly that just doesn’t matter as it’s all about building for the future. 
Thank you to Chris and Lisa Stone for giving me this opportunity.

And to Gaz for helping handle him as he can be a handful on the ground!!
